New!
There is a part of me that wishes I didn't have to write this and there is a part of me that can't help but write this. As creative folks we are driven to create something 'new'. That's our mantra. New! Fresh! Groundbreaking! Is there really anything fresh enough to warrant any attention from anyone? Who knows?
As I sit in a San Francisco coffee shop, amidst the clouding chatter of two Dutch ladies, a few college kids and a man conducting a flower shop business, I came to realize something. I want to create things that last. I no longer yearn for 'new'. 'New' unfortunately gets old and when things get old the world forgets them. This online space we created was 'new'. It got old - in fact, it took a mere three weeks for it to lose its luster. This is one of those light bulb moments that mean so much when you think of them, but if you fail to follow through - they never last.
Things that last transcend time. Great music lasts. Great books last. Great paintings last. How can we create things that last? For one, anything that lasts outlasts a trend. Lasting things influence the world. Lasting things touch people and people in turn keep it lasting.
Lets create things that last and let's start now.

The new place
Before I got those keys, I had a hard time believing San Francisco was home. Now, it is. The lease is signed, the rent is due and the unpacking needs to be done.
The apartment is on the 4th floor, so there's a partial city view. It reminds me of the old apartment. It's a little noisy, but it has good space and lots of sunlight.

summer love
The summer is here. Portland rain most of the time throughout the year, except the sunny summer.
Jamison Square is located in pearl district. The fountain emulates a waterfall from a series of tiered blocks and is complete with a shallow tide pool.
The water is falling from the top of the constructing building. I saw the rainbow from my office.

My journey - Stop 1 - Malaysia
After reading jason post of how he feel New York, i decide to write my journey from Malaysia to Portland, US. Malaysia is the first stop in my life where i spend most of my time growing up.
what I really miss about Malaysia:
1. hanging out with friends at mamak store till mid night
2. eat dim sum at breakfast
3. get a ramly burger on the street for supper
4. stuck in the traffic jam
5. shopping at mid valley, sunway pyramid and one-utama
6. foods- especially chao kuey teow, nasi lemak, laksa, roti canai, chicken rice, bah ku teh.
7. sing karaoke all night long
8. kill my time at "pasar malam" (something like a night street market)
9. take a cold shower in the super hot day
10. watch chinese program on tv
I will visit malaysia in Nov, I will post some photos to the list above. Here are some snap shot i got:

Starting fresh
I miss NYC. It's got a certain grit found nowhere else. I miss turning on my turbo-walk and weaving down Lexington. I miss pushing my way unto a crowded subway. I even miss the simplicity of being able to take a different route home everyday. It's hard to do that when your face is glued to a street map half the time.
But I'm here now. This city has it's own energy. I just have to learn to slow down, look around and take in every second of it. I'll get the hang of it. I hope.

fuckadvertising is born
Fuck advertising and everything it stands for.
That's right, we said it. This space is an expression of the idea that advertising is not the sole means of creativity. It began in a room with four walls, three minds and an assignment we cared nothing about. Creativity and the need to create are longstanding, so today we say fuck advertising. Fuck its boundaries, it's budgets, and it's opinions.
This is our outlet. It has no direction. No motives(none that we know of). No rules. No anything. It has us. Now lets make this shit happen.
